Harbhajan Mann is a popular Punjabi singer and actor who has created a special place for himself in the world of Punjabi music with his unique singing style. Some of the most popular albums of Mann include “Chithiye Nee Chithiye ,” “Jag Deondiye de Mele,” “Oye Hoye,” “Satrangi Peengh,” “Mauj Mastiyan” & “Nazran Miliyan”.

Harbhajan Mann started singing in 1980 as an amateur while he performed for South Asians during his schooling days in Canada. He was later advised to take up singing as a profession by his Guru Sharomani Kavisha Karnail Singh Paras Ramoovalia.

His first professional break came with the album “Chithiye Nee Chithiye” became a huge hit and broke all sales records globally. At this time Mann was still a resident of Canada. Realizing that the scope of Punjabi music is limited in Canada, Mann then decided to move back to India and peruse his singing career.

He began singing and entertaining audiences with his unique melodious voice and Punjabi pop style but his popularity was still limited to Punjab. It was in 1999 that Harbhajan Mann became a national craze when T-Series along with MTV released the album “Oye Hoye.” This album was a big international hit and made Mann a household name.

Mann then started performing shows across the world and realized that it is important to revive Punjabi cinema if Punjabi culture needs to be kept alive amidst the youth and coming generation.

After almost 3 years of struggle, in 2002 Mann managed convince Manmohan Singh & T –series to produce & release “Jee Aayan Nu” – the first Punjabi movie to have a worldwide release. Mann since then starred in several Punjabi blockbuster hits “Asa Nu Mann Wanta Da”, “Dil Apna Punjabi”, “Mera Pind” . Mann now has 7 successful movies to his credit and is a popular star of Punjabi cinema.
